My uncle is selling his corvette. It would be interesting then saw the auto. Seems kinda sad, a 20 year old car with 17,000 miles. That’s like three tanks of gas a year.

It might be worth that to someone, but even with the miles it’s a hard sell being an automatic and beige/silver . The 1997-00 cars had a lot of issues, and are more expensive to fix due to unique parts.

I’ve seen Z06's with slightly more miles going for only 2- 3k more.

Yeah, I don’t like the color at all. He has a 1969 sting ray in the same color. I think that is why he bought this color in 1998 in silver.

That’s gonna be a tough sell. I expect to see similar stories on the C8 corvette 15-20 years from now

I’ll tell him to buy a C8 and that some guy name KingT will offer him $12,438 in the year 2040.

Why mention twice it is a coupe? I know they all came with two doors but I thought it was either a hatch or a vert? Learn me if I’m wrong please.

It’s not even really the “coupe”. In 1998 there was the targa/hatch, convertible, and the fixed roof coupe. This is the hatch.

That’s going to be a hard sell to someone looking to buy a C5 as a great budget performance car. The year, the color, and the AT all will be knocks against it. At a certain point, the low miles are not to the overall benefit. I was even a tiny bit skeptical buying mine last year with about 40k miles (but thankfully a 6MT).

It’ll be an easy sell to someone who just retired, but didn’t put quite enough away in his or her 401K to buy a C7 . For them, it might seem like a bargain for something they just plan on putzing around the retirement community with. After all, it’ll perfectly match the khaki cargo shorts and hat that says “golfers don’t get old, they just lose their balls.”

TL;DR - You’re more likely to see this parked next to a look-alike golf cart than at an autocross.
